Head of Government visits the aeronautical industry cluster in Nouaceur

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, visited on Wednesday, June 22, 2022, accompanied by the Minister Delegate for Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies, Mr. Mohcine Jazouli, and in the presence of Mr. Hamid Ben Brahim Andaloussi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Safran Nacelles Morocco, the Nouaceur Aerospace Industry Cluster,  which is the first pole of this industry, which was launched in Morocco 20 years ago, under the high directives of His Majesty the King, may God assist him. 
The Head of Government began his visit with an assessment of the activities and production units of the Safran Nasil Morocco plant, launched by His Majesty the King 16 years ago, and which is continuously developing in terms of skills strengthening, competitiveness, added value creation and the creation of exceptional productions around the world,  This facilitated the launch of a new expansion of the aircraft engine incubator production site, covering an area of up to 6,000 square meters.
In the same context, the Head of Government visited the Aviation Training Institute, the result of a public-private partnership that has enabled the training and skills development of 12,000 people, thus meeting the needs of the local aviation industry. 
The Head of Government concluded his tour by visiting the 128-hectare Midparc Industrial Zone, a free zone that offers multiple services in the field of the aeronautical industry, technology industries, and innovative technologies with high added value. 
 


This visit was an opportunity for the Head of Government to take stock of the development of the cluster, as well as the prospects for the development of the aeronautical industry in Morocco after the Covid-19 pandemic, to strengthen its position as an industrial platform of reference at the continental regional level, where the Head of Government welcomed the rapid and qualitative progress of industrial activities in this pole,  became an attractive destination for investors, and appreciated the momentum shown by this industry, as evidenced by the results of the sector, which exceeds what was recorded in 2019 before the Covid-19 pandemic. This confirms the leading position enjoyed by the Kingdom in the field of the aviation industry on a global scale.
The Moroccan aerospace sector is a technological sector with high added value, employing more than 20,000 people active in Morocco, in 142 companies, 37% of whom are women. The sector is also experiencing a level of integration of more than 40%, reaching an annual growth rate of 17% (2017-2020) and reaching a turnover of 20 billion dirhams.
