The Head of Government receives the Chairman of the National Financial Information Authority

The Head of Government Mr. Aziz Akhannouch received, Friday at the headquarters of the Government in Rabat, Mr. Jawhar Al-Nafisi, President of the National Authority for Financial Information, who presented to the Head of Government the annual report of the Authority for the year 2021, following the requirements of Law No. 05-43 on combating money laundering, amended and supplemented. 
The report recorded the upward trend in the Authority's activity indicators during 2021, whether about suspicious declarations submitted, requests for information received nationally and internationally, or referrals to the relevant judicial authorities. 
The report reviewed the most important achievements related to the rehabilitation of the national system to combat money laundering and terrorist financing, by harmonizing it with international standards and best practices at the international level, enhancing its effectiveness, and raising the pace of national coordination between law enforcement authorities, supervisory and control authorities, subject persons, and the private sector.

During this meeting, they also discussed the upcoming visit of the experts of the Financial Action Task Force (GAFI) to Morocco, from January 16 to 18, 2023, to identify the most important achievements of the Kingdom in terms of implementing the axes of the action plan agreed with the Group on the ground, intending to get out of the enhanced follow-up process as soon as possible.
