Head of Government holds talks with Cape Verde Prime Minister

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, received, on Wednesday 10 May 2023 in Rabat, Mr. José Ulysses Correa e Silva, Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Cape Verde, who is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of an important government delegation, within the framework of the second session of the Joint Commission for Cooperation Morocco-Cape Verde, and held talks with him on ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation in various fields. 
During this meeting, the two parties noted the distinguished level of friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, which derive their strength from the bonds of mutual appreciation and respect between His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, and His Excellency the President of the Republic of Cape Verde, José Maria Pereira Neves.
The two sides also praised the holding of the second session of the Joint Committee for Cooperation between the two countries and the business forum that accompanies it, which will give new dynamism to joint cooperation and bilateral relations, in the horizon of raising the level of strategic partnership.
 

During this meeting, the Head of Government reiterated Morocco's appreciation for the clear and firm position of the Republic of Cape Verde in support of the territorial integrity of the Kingdom and in support of the autonomy initiative presented by Morocco, as the only, realistic, and credible solution to the artificial dispute over the southern provinces of the Kingdom.  He also noted with satisfaction the good conduct of the diplomatic representations of the Republic of Cape Verde in the Kingdom in Rabat, the capital, and in the city of Dakhla in the Moroccan Sahara.  
During their talks, the two officials discussed the promising prospects opened by the cooperation agreements signed in areas such as protecting and encouraging investments, enhancing trade dynamism, developing capacities, reviving housing, training, scientific research, and other economic, social, and cultural cooperation programs.
