After Errachidia and Ouarzazate, the Head of Government inspects several social, economic and agricultural projects in the province of Zagora

  • Expansion, rehabilitation and equipping of the regional hospital of Zagora with a financial envelope of 45 million dirhams.
  • Identifying projects related to the construction of dams and the management of water mattresses costing more than 200 million dirhams.

Continuing his visit to the provinces of the Draa-Tafilalet region, the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, arrived on Friday evening, June 16, 2023, in the province of Zagora, on a field visit, during which he examined a set of social, economic, and agricultural projects launched by the government in this region, as well as the extent of their implementation with the aim of accelerating their pace.
The Head of Government inspected the project to expand, rehabilitate, and equip the regional hospital of Zagora, for which a financial envelope of 45 million dirhams has been allocated. This will make it possible to improve reception and hospitalization conditions thanks to the reception and guidance area and increase the number of large surgeries performed in the hospital by 25% after 8 months and by 35% after a year. Mr. Aziz Akhannouch was also briefed on the projects that are in the process of being completed, including the expansion of a dialysis center, and the project to establish a private multidisciplinary clinic in The city in the framework of a public-private partnership.
 The visit was also an opportunity to present and stand on the completion of 5 projects related to small dams and hill lakes, for which more than 200 million dirhams have been allocated, and to stand on the progress of the completion of the Agdz Dam, whose works have been completed.
 

A presentation was also made on the extent of the completion of drinking water supply projects in the regions of the programmer, within the national program for drinking water supply and irrigation water 2020-2027 at a cost of more than 82 million dirhams.  
The Head of Government was briefed on the main axes of the regional plan for agriculture within the framework of the "Green Generation", the agricultural water development plan in Zagora, as well as the project to plant palm trees with the aim of intensifying and developing agriculture, health coverage for farmers in the region and the valorization of agriculture.

On this occasion, the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, stressed the importance of the projects initiated by the government sectors in the Zagora region and the entire Draa-Tafilalet region, as they are part of the government program aimed at consolidating the foundations of the social state and strengthening the policy of decentralization, noting that the government, in implementation of the High Royal Directives on Deconcentration, is continuing to consolidate advanced regionalization as structured and strategic workshops.
The Head of Government was accompanied on this visit by a ministerial delegation consisting in particular of the Minister of Equipment and Water, Mr. Nizar Baraka, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Mr. Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Mr. Mohamed Sadiki, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, Social and Solidarity Economy, Ms. Fatim-Zahra Ammor, and the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, Mr. Abdellatif Miraoui.

It is noteworthy that this visit, which takes the Head of Government and his accompanying ministerial delegation to the provinces of Errachidia, Ouarzazate, Zagora, and Tinghir, and activates the Charter of Administrative Deconcentration at the regional level, lasts three days from Thursday 15 to Saturday 17 June 2023, as it constitutes an opportunity to provide the human and natural resources that abound in the Draa-Tafilalet region, which qualifies it to host important industrial projects capable of valuing natural and human resources, creating wealth as well as localizing added value.
