Head of Government holds talks with Saint-Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister
The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, received, on Thursday morning, July 20, 2023, in Rabat, Mr. Ralph Everard Gonsalves, Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, who is on an official visit to Morocco.
The meeting, which was attended in particular by the Permanent Representative of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the United Nations, dealt with ways to strengthen relations of friendship and cooperation between Morocco and this country on the one hand, and with the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States on the other, as the latter opened in March 2022 a consular representation of its six member states in the city of Dakhla.
The two sides discussed the prospects of strengthening political consultations, within the framework of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries in March 2015, as well as the activation of action plans for sectoral cooperation, which were addressed during visits by Moroccan missions to the Caribbean.
During this meeting, the Head of Government stressed the constant readiness of the Kingdom of Morocco, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, to strengthen its openness to its partners in various regions of the world, including the Caribbean countries, with which Morocco shares relations of friendship, cooperation, and mutual appreciation. It offers important opportunities for economic and cultural cooperation and possibilities for opening up to the Caribbean and the Americas on the one hand, and to the African continent on the other.
The two sides also reviewed the components of the new roadmap for bilateral cooperation 2023-2025, which includes cooperation and technical support programs in many developmental, economic, and social sectors, such as higher education and tourism, health and fisheries, agriculture and renewable energies, and others.
