The Head of Government holds meetings with President of the Swiss Confederation and UAE Minister of Industry
The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch met with the President of the Swiss Confederation, Mr. Guy Parmelin on the sidelines of the twenty-sixth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, held in Glasgow, Scotland.
On Tuesday, October 2, the two sides discussed climate-related developments, discussed ways to develop bilateral relations in a number of fields, and stressed the need to strengthen the partnership between the two countries.
The Head of Government also met with the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber.
In a statement to the press after these talks, the UAE minister explained that the two countries are working together to enhance cooperation in the fields of energy, renewable energies, and climate action.
On the other hand, he expressed his "pride in the historical, strategic and fraternal relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco."
For his part, Mr. Akhannouch praised the role played by the UAE in the energy transition across the world, thanks to its multiple investments in the field of renewable energies.
He also noted that the speech of His Majesty King Mohammed VI addressed to the participants of the COP26 conference is of central importance, since it stresses the need to start action, a path that Morocco has already taken by lending its support to global climate action, while implementing at the national level all the measures set during previous climate summits.
From this perspective, Mr. Akhannouch added, investments in several sectors in Morocco take sustainability into account.
