The Head of Government chairs the ninth meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Moroccan Expatriates' Affairs and Immigration Affairs
The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired, on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, the ninth meeting of the Ministerial Committee for Moroccan Expatriates' Affairs and Migration Affairs.
This meeting falls within the framework of the royal care and patronage given by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, with the affairs and issues of Moroccans of the world, and implement the renewed royal instructions to improve their situation.
At the beginning of the meeting, The Head of Government recalled the royal instructions contained in a series of speeches by His Majesty, the latest of which was the speech on the sixty-ninth anniversary of the Revolution of the King and the People, which lays out the parameters and foundations that must be adopted for a successful public policy to manage the affairs of Moroccans around the world, consolidate their attachment to their identity and consolidate their role in contributing to the development of the Kingdom. He also stressed that among the priorities, at the current stage, is to strengthen and strengthen the cultural and spiritual connection of Moroccans living abroad, and to create a special mechanism to keep pace with the competencies and talents of Moroccans around the world. Supporting their initiatives and projects and encouraging and keeping pace with their investments in light of the incentives granted by the new investment charter.
The President also called on all concerned sectors and institutions and the financial and business sector to accelerate the implementation of concrete programs that would improve the conditions and affairs of Moroccans inside and outside the country and called on the members of the Ministerial Committee for Moroccan Expatriates' Affairs and Immigration Affairs to take the necessary measures to activate the contents of the High Royal Directives and implement the decisions and recommendations issued by the meeting, and to ensure that regular meetings of the technical committee emanating from this committee are held to track the implementation of all decisions and recommendations.
In his speech, the Head of Government praised the "Marhaba" operation, organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, which witnessed the influx of about 2.8 million people this year, noting that this number exceeds the level recorded before the pandemic.
In a related context, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, stressed in a speech that His Majesty the King's speech of August 20, 2022, came with a new approach, as a roadmap that addresses the problems of the Moroccan community with a holistic approach throughout the year and not only during reception periods.
The minister stressed that great efforts have been made for the benefit of Moroccans around the world, especially in improving the conditions of their reception in the homeland, adding that the optimal implementation of His Majesty the King's instructions requires parallel work at the institutional and legislative levels.
As part of the implementation of the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, the meeting concluded by stressing the need for the Government to continue to ensure the effective integration of the participation of Moroccans in governance and advisory institutions, in addition to the initiation, as soon as possible, by the Government of updating and rehabilitating the institutional framework for Moroccans of the world, especially about the reorganization of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad, and working to ensure the integration of the work programs of the ministerial sectors concerned with the affairs of Moroccans of the world and work to converge them with the interventions of the Hassan II Foundation.
