The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch Represents His Majesty the King at Brazilian President's Inauguration Ceremony
The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on Sunday, at the inauguration ceremony of the Brazilian President, Mr. Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
After attending the inauguration ceremony of the new Brazilian Head of State and his deputy, Mr. Geraldo José Rodríguez de Alcumin Filho, organized at the Congress House, Mr. Akhannouch was received at the Planalto Palace, the seat of the executive, by President Lula da Silva and his deputy.
Mr. Lula da Silva won the second round of presidential elections on Oct. 30 with 50.9 percent of the vote, 1.8 percentage points ahead of former President Jair Bolsonaro (49.1 percent).
His Majesty King Mohammed VI sent a message of congratulations to Lola da Silva on the occasion of his election, expressing his "pride in the strong friendship and fruitful cooperation that characterize Moroccan-Brazilian relations in various fields", stressing His Majesty's strong determination to work together with Lula da Silva "to consolidate the multidimensional strategic partnership existing between the two countries".
Mr. Lula da Silva previously served as President of the Republic of Brazil between 2003 and 2010.
