Mr. Aziz Akhannouch made a field visit to two first-level urban health centers, in the Mohammadi district of the prefecture of Agadir Ida Outanane, and in the Dchira Jihadiya in the prefecture of Inezgane Ait Melloul. The rehabilitation of these health centers, and raising the quality of proximity services they provide to citizens, is part of the government's fulfillment of its obligations, as 232 health centers have been rehabilitated to add to the 100 centers that were previously rehabilitated before the end of January 2023, the date of the last field visit by the head of government to the health centers, which It included three centers in the provinces of Rabat, Mohammedia and Benslimane, after they were rehabilitated and opened to citizens. This brings the number of health centers covered by this operation to 332, with a view to being able to rehabilitate 1,400 health centers.
The Head of Government stressed that the preparation and equipping of the Hassan II Regional Hospital Center and the rehabilitation of nearby health centers, including these two centers, reflect the importance that the Government attaches to facilitating citizens' access to quality health services, as well as accompanying the optimal implementation of social protection mainstreaming workshops, which HM the King attaches particular importance, recalling the government's continuation of the reform of the health system, according to a new vision aimed at overcoming the various constraints currently facing the health offer at the territorial level.
Mr. Aziz Akhannouch added that the government, through the project it has embarked on to establish territorial health groups, aims to control the course of treatment, reduce overcrowding in hospitals, and reduce the time for obtaining medical appointments. It has also developed a program to rehabilitate a new generation of primary health care institutions, as they are the first destination for those accompanying them in the path of receiving treatments, and the main building block for the implementation of the health proximity policy, and the fight against medical deserts.
For his part, Minister of Health, and Social Protection, Mr. Khalid Ait Taleb explained that the project to prepare and equip the Hassan II regional hospital center and nearby health centers falls within the framework of strengthening the national health offer, which is one of the pillars of the reform of the national health system, pointing out that these centers will provide services to about 900,000 people in the horizon of rehabilitation and opening of other centers in the Souss Massa region.
It is worth mentioning that the reform of the health system is based on 4 main pillars, related to the adoption of good governance in the sector, the valorization of human resources, the rehabilitation of the health offer, in addition to the digitization of the health system.
