The Head of government chairs the meeting of the supervisory board of “Credit Agricole Maroc”

On Thursday (July 6th) in Rabat, the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting of the supervisory board of the “Credit Agricole Maroc”, devoted in particular to the presentation of the Bank's activities.
During this meeting, the members of the Supervisory Board expressed their satisfaction with the decision taken to increase the capital of the “Credit Agricole Maroc”, by strengthening it by one billion and 350 million dirhams, in order to continue the dynamism of supporting the agricultural sector and financing farmers within the framework of the "Green Generation" strategy.
The members of the supervisory body also followed a presentation of the “Credit Agricole Maroc”, which addressed the various initiatives and efforts made by the Bank for the benefit of the agricultural sector and to enhance the dynamism of rural development, in line with the objectives and priorities of the national strategies directed to the sector.
In a speech during the meeting, the Head of Government recalled the high concern that HM King Mohammed VI attaches to the population of the rural world and to all components and actors of the agricultural sector, recalling in this regard His Majesty's instructions to activate the urgent measures of the program to combat the effects of drought.
Mr. Aziz Akhannouch stressed the importance of the role and tasks entrusted to the “Credit Agricole Maroc”, and its significant contribution to the implementation of the government's policy aimed at providing the necessary support to farmers and livestock breeders, within the framework of achieving sustainable food sovereignty.
The Head of Government also called on the various relevant ministerial departments and sectors and all actors in the sector to strongly engage in the success of government efforts aimed at gradually rebalancing the various production chains so that they can regain their dynamism and continue structured investments capable of strengthening the resilience of national agriculture.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of “Credit Agricole Maroc” stressed the Bank's continued commitment to keeping pace with the Green Generation Strategy 2020-2030, by providing the necessary support to actors in the agricultural sector, which was established during the current agricultural season, by financing the import of a range of agricultural products such as cereals, barley, animal feed, as well as livestock, which helped actors within the sector to respond to the requirements of the national market. 


 

This meeting was attended in particular by the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Credit Agricole Maroc”, the Director General of the National Agency for the Strategic Management of State Contributions and Monitoring the Efficiency of Public Institutions and Enterprises, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, the President and Director General of the Moroccan Agricultural Insurance Cooperative and the Moroccan Central Insurance Cooperative, and the rest of the members of the Supervisory Board.
