The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, received, on Friday, March 29, 2024, as part of the new round of social dialogue, a delegation from the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), led by the president of the confederation, Mr. Chakib Alj, in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance; the Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Labor, and Skills; the Minister Delegate in charge of Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesperson; and the Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform.
This meeting was an opportunity to commend the measures implemented by the current government to strengthen the resilience of Moroccan companies in the face of various crises and to enable them to continue their involvement in the dynamic of creating added value and employment opportunities. The meeting also allowed for discussions on the expectations of entrepreneurs, mainly related to amending the labor code and enacting the law on the exercise of the right to strike. The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss the reform of the pension system.
Mr. Aziz Akhannouch emphasized the positive momentum injected by the government into the social dialogue mechanism to overcome the challenges facing both companies and workers equally, emphasizing that achieving constructive consensus undoubtedly contributes to consolidating the economic and development dynamic that our country is experiencing, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him.
The Head of Government had initiated the new round of social dialogue last Tuesday with a meeting with a delegation from the Moroccan Labor Union (UMT), followed by meetings with delegations from the General Union of Moroccan Workers (UGTM) and the Democratic Confederation of Labor (CDT).
