The Head of Government meets with the French Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, held talks on Thursday, April 25, 2024, in Rabat, with Mr. Bruno Le Maire, the French Minister of Economy, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, who is on a working visit to the Kingdom.
During these talks, attended by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, and the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, both parties emphasized the specificity and uniqueness of the relations between Morocco and France, as well as the willingness of the leaders of both countries, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and the French President Mr. Emmanuel Macron, to move forward in the multidimensional strategic partnership.
 

The Head of Government praised the quality of relations between Morocco and France and emphasized the need to give them a new impetus, in line with the developments they are experiencing at all levels, within the framework of close consultation.
Furthermore, these talks allowed for discussions on the promising prospects of industrial cooperation between the two countries in key sectors, particularly in the field of green hydrogen. This meeting also provided an opportunity to commend the action of the French Development Agency in supporting the reforms and development programs initiated by Morocco.
The two parties also examined the economic and commercial cooperation between the two countries, with France being Morocco's top partner in terms of tourist receipts and foreign investments. Trade between the two countries amounted to around 163.1 billion dirhams in 2023, an increase of 33% compared to 2021.
The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the holding of the 15th High-Level Morocco-France Meeting in our country, which is an important mechanism to strengthen bilateral partnership and give it a new impetus.
