Following these Royal High Instructions, the government has initiated a program to rehabilitate flood-affected areas in the southeastern regions of the Kingdom, where heavy and exceptional rainfall has caused loss of life and material damage in the provinces of Errachidia, Midelt, Ouarzazate, Tinghir, Zagora, Figuig, Jerada, Taroudant, Tata, Tiznit, Guelmim, and Assa Zag. The total estimated budget allocated for the implementation of this program is around 2.5 billion dirhams.
In this regard, and in line with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, the government has mobilized all human and logistical resources to respond quickly and effectively to the needs of the affected population. Various concerned ministries have been called upon to ensure the successful implementation of this ambitious program.
As part of this program, support and assistance will be provided for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of damaged buildings and homes, as well as for the restoration of road infrastructure, telecommunications networks, electricity and drinking water distribution networks, and sewage systems.
The program also aims to support agricultural activities in the affected areas, particularly through the repair of small and medium hydraulic structures and assistance to livestock farmers who have lost their herds due to the floods, to help restore livestock in these regions.
The launch of the rehabilitation program for areas affected by floods in the southeastern part of the Kingdom underscores the spirit of commitment and responsibility that drives the government’s actions, reflecting its dedication to proximity and its ongoing attention to the needs of the population.
