The Head of Government launches activities at 32 healthcare facilities in the Souss-Massa Region

  • Launch of activities at 29 health centers in the Souss-Massa region following the completion of rehabilitation work.
  • Opening in Agadir of two health spaces for youth, "Talborjt" and "Taddart," and a rehabilitation center.

On Friday, November 1, 2024, in Agadir, the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, inaugurated 32 healthcare facilities in the Souss-Massa region. This includes two youth health spaces, "Talborjt" and "Taddart," a rehabilitation center, and 29 health centers whose rehabilitation and upgrading works have been completed. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region and governor of the Agadir-Ida-Outanane prefecture, the President of the Souss-Massa Regional Council, and the first Vice-President of the Agadir Municipal Council.
The opening of the two youth health spaces in Agadir, "Talborjt" and "Taddart," aims to enhance healthcare services for young people aged 10 to 24. These spaces offer medical and nursing services, including general and specialized consultations in ophthalmology, psychiatry, dentistry, dermatology, and more.
The rehabilitation center, one of the largest in the country in its specialty, provides an integrated environment and state-of-the-art medical equipment, meeting the growing demand for functional rehabilitation and re-education for athletes and people with disabilities, thus improving their quality of life and promoting sustainable development within society.
 

The Head of Government also reviewed details regarding the commissioning of 29 health centers in the provinces of the Souss-Massa region, whose rehabilitation and upgrading works have been completed. These centers, equipped by the government with qualified human resources and high-quality medical equipment, aim to strengthen healthcare services in the provinces of the Souss-Massa region and respond to the increasing demand for healthcare services for a target population of over 1,660,000 people.
These health centers include: 10 urban and rural health centers of the first and second levels and 4 rural dispensaries in the Agadir Ida-Outanane prefecture, a tuberculosis and respiratory diseases diagnostic center, two rural health centers of the second level, and two rural dispensaries in the Tiznit province, as well as 8 rural health centers of the first level and two rural dispensaries in the Taroudant province.
During this field visit, the Head of Government emphasized that these projects are part of the completion of the government’s policy to upgrade healthcare services in the various regions of the Kingdom, in line with the High Royal Directives aimed at a radical reform of the national health system, consolidating the foundations of the social state. He also highlighted that the rehabilitation process has, so far, involved more than 400 health centers nationwide, with a goal of reaching 1,400 centers.
