The Head of Government receives the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch received, on Thursday, January 5, 2023, in Rabat, Mr. Josep Borrell, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, who is on a working visit to Morocco.

The two sides discussed bilateral relations and the mutual will to deepen dialogue and cooperation, within the framework of the strategic partnership between Morocco and the European Union, to which HM King Mohammed VI attaches particular importance. 
The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, welcomed the dynamism of bilateral relations between the Kingdom and the European Union, which has enabled the structuring and improvement of the partnership at various levels, praising its positive outcome in the fields of agriculture and fisheries, finance, investment, green economy, migration, and security. 
 

He also noted the high value of trade between the two parties, which enabled Morocco to become the EU's premier economic and trade partner on the African continent. The volume of exchanges between the two parties in 2021 amounted to more than 45 billion euros and tripled in 10 years.
During this meeting, Mr. Akhannouch expressed his satisfaction with the compatibility and harmony between the social and economic reform agenda initiated by Morocco under the wise leadership of the King, and the European Union's support and accompaniment to these projects, to accelerate the implementation of a number of them during 2023.
