The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, received on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in Rabat, the President of the National Financial Intelligence Authority (ANRF), Jawhar Nfissi, who presented him with the Authority's annual report for the year 2022, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 43-05 on the fight against money laundering, as amended and supplemented.
This report highlights the growing evolution of ANRF's activity indicators during the year 2022, both in terms of suspicious transaction reports submitted or requests for information made at national and international levels, or even transmissions to the competent judicial authorities.
During this meeting, the President of ANRF presented to the Head of Government the National Strategy for Combating Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing, developed in accordance with international standards and best practices in the field, and adopted by the Authority's Board on December 7, 2023.
This strategy aims to adhere to the global system of international standards for combating money laundering and terrorist financing, with the follow-up to prevent risks and related criminal phenomena. It is also a question of continuing the general mobilization of all the parties concerned, knowing that national coordination is a key element in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, while taking into account new technologies.
This meeting was an opportunity to highlight the general mobilization of all the sectors concerned, in order to implement the axes of the action plan agreed with the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), which was crowned by the exit of the Kingdom of Morocco in February 2023 from the enhanced follow-up process, known as the "gray list".
