The Head of Government chairs a meeting of the steering committee for the National Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation Program 2020-2027
The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting of the steering committee for the National Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation Program 2020-2027 on Tuesday in the city of M'diq. This meeting focused on ways to strengthen the implementation dynamics of this program and update its various axes to accelerate the realization of urgent investments to be undertaken in the water sector, as well as examining the priorities contained in the Royal Speech addressed to the Nation on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Throne Day.
At the beginning of this meeting, the Head of Government emphasized the content of the Royal Speech, which outlined the main axes for meeting the challenges related to water issues, as well as the Sovereign's call for the need to continuously update the levers of the national water policy and implement various projects in full compliance with set deadlines and without any delay.
In line with the High Royal Instructions, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch specified that the government will spare no effort to ensure the optimal implementation of all aspects of the National Drinking Water Supply and Irrigation Program 2020-2027, to ensure the implementation of all its projects with the required speed and efficiency and achieve its objectives of mitigating the effects of water stress, in line with the aspirations of His Majesty the King, may God assist Him.
During this meeting, the Head of Government urged the various government departments concerned to increase the pace of water-related investments and their implementation, according to the established schedule, stating that the steering committee will intensify its meetings to closely monitor the progress of the various established programs.
This meeting was held in the presence of the Minister of Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka, and the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki.
