In accordance with the High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, contained in the royal letter addressed to the Head of Government on June 20th, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch chaired a meeting on Monday, June 24th in Rabat, dedicated to the 7th general census of the population and housing, scheduled for the end of summer. The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Abdelouafi Laftit, and the High Commissioner for Planning, Mr. Ahmed Lahlimi Alami.
During this meeting, the Head of Government recalled the content of the royal letter, which outlined the main guidelines to ensure the success of this important operation. The high directions were assimilated by the various participants, who expressed their commitment to making this event a success in line with the aspirations of the sovereign.
Mr. Aziz Akhannouch affirmed that the government will spare no effort to ensure the necessary means for the full success of this national-scale operation and its organization within the specified timeframe, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions. He emphasized the importance of the results of the upcoming census for the development of relevant public policies and the harmonization of different programs with the needs of citizens.
After highlighting the importance of general mobilization of human and logistical resources, the Head of Government called on all relevant administrations, public institutions, and decentralized services, in accordance with the High Royal Instructions, to demonstrate serious involvement and close coordination to ensure the success of the organization of the 7th general census of the population and housing. This census is an important mechanism for a comprehensive understanding of the demographic and socio-economic evolution of the Kingdom and for the development of relevant policies at the national and local levels.
The meeting examined various practical provisions related to the organization of the census operation, in light of the High Instructions contained in the royal letter addressed to the Head of Government. These provisions aim to ensure an innovative operation through the approach and technological means that will be mobilized for data collection and processing. The census is also ambitious in terms of expanding the scope of investigation to new themes, such as the societal project of social protection, which His Majesty the King, may God assist him, holds in high regard.
The royal letter addressed to the Head of Government last Thursday emphasized the valuable contribution of the results of the upcoming general census of the population and housing to "the realization of our societal project and the successful implementation of our development model, built on the principles of political democracy, economic efficiency, human development, and social and territorial cohesion."
