The Head of Government chairs follow-Up meeting on health system upgrade project

The Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, in Rabat, dedicated to monitoring the progress of the health system upgrade project, which has been of particular interest to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist Him.
This meeting, attended by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fettah, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Amine Tahraoui, the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, and the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Hassan Boubrik, provided an opportunity to review the progress made in implementing the program for the construction of university, regional, and provincial hospitals, which includes a total of 64 projects.
The meeting also examined the progress of the program to rehabilitate primary health centers, with a statement noting that 934 of these centers have been rehabilitated so far, with the goal of reaching a total of 1,439 facilities.
Additionally, the meeting focused on the implementation of the program related to the creation of territorial health groups, which are set to be launched in one of the Kingdom’s regions as a pilot phase.
 


During the meeting, the Head of Government emphasized that the structural reform of the health system, undertaken by the government in a serious and responsible manner and in line with the Royal High Directives, is not limited to measures concerning material and human resources. It also aims to address various challenges related to administrative and institutional governance.
The Head of Government also welcomed the progress made in implementing the various programs related to the reform of the national health system. He called on the concerned sectors to intensify their efforts and continue accelerating the implementation of all aspects of this reform to ensure its success, in accordance with the Royal High Instructions.
