The Head of Government Chairs a Steering Committee Meeting on the Monitoring of Sports Stadium Projects for CAN 2025 and the 2030 World Cup

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting of the steering committee overseeing sports stadium projects for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) and the 2030 FIFA World Cup on Thursday, February 27, 2025, in Rabat. The meeting was attended by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mrs. Nadia Fettah, the Minister of National Education, Preschool, and Sports, Mr. Mohamed Saad Berrada, and the Minister Delegate in charge of the Budget, Mr. Fouzi Lekjaa.
During this meeting, the committee reviewed the progress of development work on the nine stadiums that will host the final phases of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, ensuring that the work aligns with the established timeline. These stadiums are expected to be fully completed between March and August 2025.
 

The committee also assessed the progress of construction work on the Hassan II Stadium in Benslimane, which is being developed in accordance with FIFA standards and is scheduled to be completed by December 2027. This stadium is being prepared in anticipation of hosting matches for the 2030 FIFA World Cup, which Morocco will co-host with Spain and Portugal.
During the meeting, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch emphasized that, in line with the High Royal Directives, the government is committed to continuing the various sports infrastructure projects and ensuring all necessary conditions for the successful organization of CAN 2025 and the 2030 World Cup in Morocco.
