The Head of Government receives a Delegation from the Board of Directors of the World Bank Group

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, received, on Thursday, June 9, 2022, at the Head of Government's Office in Rabat, a delegation of members of the Board of Directors of the World Bank Group, who are on an official visit to Morocco.
 
The meeting was an opportunity to identify the importance of the partnership between Morocco and the World Bank Group, and ways to strengthen and develop it, as well as an opportunity to deliberate on the challenges faced by global economies, due to the high rate of inflation and the high prices of a range of basic materials in the international market.
 
During the meeting, the Head of Government reviewed the strategies and programs launched by Morocco under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, stressing that despite the global economic fluctuations, the government has maintained the continuation of structural reform projects and their timetable, as well as the increase in the volume of public investment, as well as the continuation of support for social programs, whether in the field of health, education or social protection, and the allocation of additional support to maintain the purchasing power of citizens in light of the high prices of a range of raw materials on the Globally.
 


 Ms. Adriana Kulgler, Executive Director of the United States of America on the Board of Directors of the World Bank, congratulated Morocco on the scale of infrastructure built in the last twenty years, praising the dynamism and transformations that the Moroccan economy is witnessing.  She added that Morocco managed the Covid-19 pandemic well, noting the high rates of vaccination against this virus among Moroccans. 
The Executive Director of the United States of America at the Board of Directors of the World Bank also expressed her appreciation for the efforts made by Morocco to face the repercussions of global economic fluctuations, noting the decisions taken by the Kingdom in this regard. It also commended Morocco's efforts to promote human resources and the health sector, as well as the reform of public administration. 
On this occasion, she thanked Morocco for hosting the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund to be organized in Marrakech in October 2023.
