The Head of Government chairs meeting of Strategic Committee for Social Protection
The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch chaired, Monday, April 10, 2023, in Rabat, a meeting of the Strategic Committee on Social Protection, devoted to examining the results of the various implemented programs and concrete measures to universalize the social protection system, in full compliance with the agenda set by His Majesty the King, may God assist Him.
During the meeting, the Committee followed the practical implementation of the universalization of health coverage on the ground, whether it is compulsory health coverage or AMO solidarity, and the progress of implementation of the National Population Register and the Unified Social Register scheduled for 2023, as mechanisms for reform and compilation of social assistance systems, and concrete measures to universalize the social assistance system during the year 2024, to implement the reform of the job loss system in 2025.
After invoking the High Royal Instructions in this regard, The Head of Government called on the relevant departments to encourage citizens to engage in the system of compulsory coverage, as it is a system of mutual support for unpaid workers and solidarity for people who are not able to perform their participation functions. He also urged them to encourage citizens to register their families in the regulation of the unified social register, as this is closely linked to receiving several social services, especially family allowances, before the end of 2023.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Interior Mr. Abdelouafi Laftit, the Secretary General of the Government Mohamed El Hajoui, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the Budget Fouzi Lekjaa, the Director General of the National Social Security Fund Hassan Boubrik, the Secretaries General of the Presidency of the Government, the Ministry of the Interior, and the High Commission for Planning.
