The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired the second meeting of the National Commission for Digital Development on Wednesday, April 3, 2024 in Rabat.
During this meeting, Ms. Ghita Mezzour, Minister Delegate to The Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, presented an updated report on "the general orientations of digital development - Maroc digital 2030". This follows meetings organized with the members of the commission to collect their proposals and opinions in order to contribute to the enrichment of the national strategy for digital development.
This strategy aims to allow citizens to benefit from digital services on an equal footing, while ensuring the anchoring of good practices and supporting the public administration in its digital transition process. It also aims to make the Kingdom a producer of digital solutions, to create job opportunities through the attraction of investments and to support young talents in the digital field.
Mr. Aziz Akhannouch affirmed during this meeting that the government is committed to strengthening the digitalization of the public administration and to developing the digital economy, in line with the High Royal Guidelines and in accordance with the commitments of the government program. He emphasized the government's commitment to implementing the digital transition project in an optimal way, given its important role in improving the quality of public services, creating wealth and promoting economic development.
This meeting was an opportunity to recall the two fundamental axes of the "general orientations of digital development - Maroc digital 2030":

  • Digitalization of public services: which aims to accelerate the pace of digitalization of public services while ensuring their quality, through a methodology centered around the user, whether citizen or business.
  • Injecting a new dynamic into the digital economy in order to develop Moroccan digital solutions and create value and jobs. This pillar is based on three main axes: the development of the offshoring sector, the building of an ecosystem dedicated to start-ups and the support of the digitalization of small and medium-sized enterprises.

The following took part in the work of this second meeting: government members, members of the commission representing the public and private sectors, representatives of professional bodies and experts.
