The Head of Government Chairs the First Board of Directors Meeting of the Moroccan Blood Agency and Its Derivatives

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the Moroccan Blood Agency and Its Derivatives on Wednesday, January 25, 2025, in Rabat. This agency was established as part of a comprehensive reform of the national health system, which the government is implementing in accordance with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and in line with the provisions of Framework Law 06.22 on the national health system.
This meeting provided an opportunity to examine the strategic aspects of the Moroccan Blood Agency and Its Derivatives, created under Law 11.22, and to approve its annual action plan and projected budget for the 2025 fiscal year. The Board of Directors also approved the agency’s organizational structure and the status of its personnel.
On this occasion, the Head of Government recalled that the establishment of the Moroccan Blood Agency and Its Derivatives is part of the efforts to support the implementation of the health system reform project, as envisioned by His Majesty the King, may God assist him. He emphasized the agency’s primary role, which is to develop and maintain blood stocks and their derivatives to meet the needs of all citizens, in alignment with the government’s strong commitment to upholding the principles of health equity and social solidarity.
The creation of the Moroccan Blood Agency and Its Derivatives aims to provide a rapid and effective response to the evolving health needs in the Kingdom, strengthen national health security through the organization and coordination of efforts among all stakeholders, and enable better complementarity in ensuring adequate and permanent blood stocks. This approach is intended to guarantee access to healthcare services for all social groups, particularly in emergency situations.
