The Head of Government Holds Talks with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger

On Thursday, November 7, 2024, in Rabat, the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, met with Mr. Ali Mahaman Lamine Zeine, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Niger. The talks focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Niger, as well as on issues of shared interest. The meeting was attended by Mr. Nasser Bourita, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Living Abroad.
During the meeting, the Head of Government praised the exceptional level of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, grounded in the esteem and respect His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, has for African nations, especially those in the Sahel region.
In this context, the Head of Government highlighted the Atlantic Initiative launched by His Majesty the King, may God assist him, which aims to improve access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean. This initiative stems from His Majesty's conviction that this part of the African continent fully deserves to participate in the global economy and to achieve stability and prosperity.
The discussions also provided an opportunity for both parties to explore promising economic cooperation prospects between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Niger. They discussed mechanisms to strengthen bilateral trade, expand it into new areas, and promote investment opportunities between the two countries.
