The Head of Government Chairs a Meeting on the Employment Sector

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired a meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, in Rabat to discuss measures for promoting employment. The meeting was attended by all relevant ministerial departments, the High Commission for Planning, the National Social Security Fund, and the Office for Vocational Training and Work Promotion.
This meeting served to review the practical measures outlined in the roadmap for the employment sector, which the government plans to announce soon to enhance the sector’s dynamism, in alignment with the High Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, aimed at achieving the anticipated economic and social development in the country.
On this occasion, the Head of Government affirmed that the government is closely monitoring the developments in the employment sector and is committed to implementing a range of impactful measures in the short and medium term to accelerate the deployment of job-generating programs. He called on all stakeholders to demonstrate mobilization and coordination to ensure optimal alignment and improve the efficiency of government interventions.
 

During the meeting, the participants emphasized that employment, a crucial priority for the government, has been allocated approximately 14 billion dirhams in the 2025 Finance Act to support its advancement. They noted that the sector’s roadmap aims to create dignified employment opportunities for all social categories, in both urban and rural areas, despite existing economic challenges.
Additionally, it was highlighted that the employment roadmap will consider addressing water-related challenges and rural area issues. It will also include practical measures to benefit small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), recognized as a key driver of job creation, while focusing on training to expedite integration into the labor market.
Attendees at this meeting included the Minister of Economy and Finance, the Minister of Equipment and Water, the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, the Minister of Economic Integration, Small Business, Employment, and Skills, the Minister of Industry and Trade, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy, the Delegate Minister in charge of Investment, Convergence, and Policy Evaluation, the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, the Secretary of State for Housing, the Secretary of State for Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, as well as the High Commissioner for Planning and the Director General of the National Social Security Fund.
