The Head of Government Meets with the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates
The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, held talks on Thursday, January 30, 2025, in Rabat with the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Mr. Shayea Mohsen Al-Zindani. Their discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Yemen, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, and His Excellency Dr. Rashad Muhammad Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen.
During the meeting, the Head of Government reaffirmed Morocco’s support for the unity, stability, and sovereignty of the Republic of Yemen. He also expressed Morocco’s appreciation for Yemen’s stance in supporting the Moroccan identity of the Sahara, emphasizing that any resolution to this artificial dispute can only be achieved within the framework of Morocco’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
For his part, the Yemeni Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation reiterated his country's firm position in support of Morocco’s territorial integrity. He stated that the meeting was an opportunity to discuss developments in Yemen and review several matters of mutual interest.
The Yemeni official also noted that discussions covered ways to enhance economic relations and encourage private sector initiatives in both countries. He highlighted that this visit would serve as an opportunity to sign several cooperation agreements.
