The Head of Government-designate, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch began Monday morning in Rabat his consultations for the formation of the new government with a meeting with Mr. Abdellatif Wahbi, Secretary-General of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM).
In a statement to the press after the meeting, Wehbe said that on this occasion a set of ideas were exchanged on the possibility of forming a government coalition, noting that he received from the head of the National Rally of Independents "very positive signals and we will work to continue this dialogue."
"We will try to build a common vision for the future," he said, expressing a feeling that "things will go better."
Mr. Wahbi congratulated the President of the National Rally of Independents for the trust he received, thanked him for his "positive signals and feelings", wishing him success.
It is noteworthy that the Authenticity and Modernity Party, which was in opposition during the outgoing legislative term, came in second place in the September eighth elections after the National Rally of Independents, with 86 seats.
The political bureau of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) said in a statement last Friday that it was ready to serve the public interest from all locations and had no red lines.
HM King Mohammed VI received last Friday at the Royal Palace in Fez, Aziz Akhannouch, head of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), and appointed him Head of Government, tasked with forming the new government.
"From now on, we will open consultations with the parties with which we can agree in the future, in order to form a harmonious and coherent majority with similar programs," Mr. Akhannouch said after the reception.
A member of the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents, Rachid Talbi Alami, announced on Saturday that these consultations will include the various parties that won seats in parliament in order to form a party alliance that forms the next government.
