The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch receives Mr. Nizar Baraka as part of consultations to form a government

The Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch received, on Monday in Rabat, M. Nizar Baraka, Secretary-General of the Istiqlal Party, as part of consultations to form a government. 

The Secretary-General of the Istiqlal Party, Mr. Nizar Baraka, confirmed that Mr. Akhannouch's presentation would be discussed within the framework of the party's reporting bodies, mainly in its National Council.

In a statement to the press, Mr. Baraka added that this meeting, which falls within the framework of consultations for the formation of the new government, was an opportunity "for a real discussion based first on the national spirit as well as on the strong will to make this station for our country a station to respond to the expectations of citizens, as well as to restore their confidence, and a station to build the future based on the new development model."

He pointed out that "there will be important consultations with the Head of Government-designate on the next government program in order to include many of the commitments" included in the electoral platforms of the parties that will form the government majority.

After congratulating the Head of Government-designate on the trust of the citizens and citizens, Mr. Nizar Baraka expressed his wishes for every success.

This morning, Mr. Akhannouch began his consultations for the formation of the new government with a meeting with Abdellatif Wahbi, Secretary-General of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM).

It is noteworthy that the Istiqlal Party, one of the opposition poles during the outgoing legislative term, came in third place in the September 8 elections after the National Rally of Independents (102) and the Authenticity and Modernity Party (86), with 81 seats.

His Majesty King Mohammed VI received last Friday at the Royal Palace in Fez, Aziz Akhannouch, head of the National Rally of Independents (RNI), and appointed him Head of Government, tasked with forming the new government.
"From now on, we will open consultations with the parties with which we can agree in the future, in order to form a harmonious and coherent majority with similar programs," Akhannouch said after the reception.
A member of the political bureau of the National Rally of Independents, Mr. Rachid Talbi Alami, announced on Saturday that these consultations will include the various parties that won seats in parliament in order to form a party alliance that forms the next government.
