Important Moroccan delegation participates in the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 26)

Morocco is participating with an important delegation in the 26th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 26), which will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from November 1 to 12, 2021. 
The opening session of the twenty-sixth session of the Conference was marked by the speech of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, May God Assist Him, to the participants, followed by the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch. 
His Majesty the King is represented at the summit by the Head of Government, who heads the Moroccan delegation, which includes, in particular, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Mr. Mohamed Sadiki, and Ms. Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development.
The twenty-sixth edition of the conference will see the participation of a number of heads of state, heads of government, heads of international organizations, heads of major international companies, experts, academics, representatives of civil society actors, and citizens.  The summit aims to strengthen the commitment of the international community to combat the great threats to the future of humanity, and to join efforts by all parties concerned to accelerate the implementation of the goals of the Paris Climate Agreement and the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. 
The conference is an opportunity for Morocco to present its Nationally Determined Contribution to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, which have been updated by 2030, as well as to present the ambitious policies and strategies that Morocco has successfully embarked on, under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, in order to consolidate the foundations of sustainable development, encourage the energy transition and support clean technologies, in order to enhance the Kingdom’s effective contribution to international efforts in this field in accordance with the Kingdom's international commitments.
