Government Council Meeting on Thursday, June 6, 2024
The government council meeting was held on Thursday, Dhou al-Qi'dah 28, 1445, corresponding to June 6, 2024, under the chairmanship of Mr. Aziz Akhannouch. The meeting focused on the presentation of a sectoral briefing, as well as the discussion of several legal texts and proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with Article 92 of the Constitution.
At the beginning of this meeting, the Government Council received a briefing on the preparations for Eid Al-Adha, presented by the Minister of Agriculture, Marine Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki.
During this briefing, Mr. Sadiki discussed the various measures taken to implement this program, including the evaluation of supply in coordination with professionals, and the ongoing process of identifying sheep and goats.
Regarding the health aspect, the minister affirmed that the health status of the national livestock is good, thanks to its surveillance and sanitary protection against infectious diseases. He noted that 1,486 inspections of food and veterinary drugs have been carried out until May 31, 2024.
To address the consequences of drought, the executive has resorted, on an exceptional and temporary basis, to opening imports to increase supply and contribute to the preservation of the national livestock.
Furthermore, the Council has decided to postpone the examination of Bill No. 35.23 concerning the first sale of marine fisheries products to a later date, in order to further study it.
- Next, the Government Council examined and adopted Decree No. 2.24.371 amending and supplementing Decree No. 2-22-400 on the powers and organization of the Ministry of Justice, presented by the Minister of Justice, Abdellatif Ouahbi.
- Subsequently, the Government Council examined and adopted Decree No. 2.23.400 concerning the procedure for declassifying parcels from the public hydraulic domain, presented by the Minister of Equipment and Water, Nizar Baraka.
The Council concluded its work by approving the proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution. The following appointments were made :

- Khalid El Ghomari has been appointed Director of the Sebou Hydraulic Basin Agency :
- At the Ministry of Health and Social Protection :
- Karima Fouraiji has been appointed Director of the Mohammed VI University Hospital Center in Marrakech ;
- At the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation :
- Mohamed Benthami has been appointed Dean of the Faculty of Sciences in Kénitra.
- Khalid Berrada has been appointed Head of the Higher Education and Pedagogical Development Directorate ;
- At the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication - Department of Culture :
- Latifa Moftaqir has been appointed Director of Books, Libraries, and Archives.
